χirp - eXtendable interface for robotic purposes

χirp stands for "eXtendable interface for robotic purposes". χirp offers a extendable graphical user interface for controlling of different robot systems. For every imaginable robot system a control interface can be created by implementing some plugins for &chi:irp. To develop plugins for any robot, χirp offers a large programming interface.

The user interface


The framework provides, to support and to fasten the development, several helper classes and methods. Written plugins can be tested using the integrated testing facility without a "real" robot. The application offers a wide spectrum of functions for evaluation, recording and for experiments. The comprehensive documentation allows developers a fast and easy access into χirp.

The application is open source. The source codes, documentations and binaries can be downloaded from the project's website at berlios.de.
