Information about mapping

Mapping

The working group "mapping" has set it's task to the automatic generation of a map in a RoboCup Rescue Competition. The Robots (AIMEE, Scorpion, Areobot) should generate a map of the Arenas while exploring them autonomously and cooperativly.

All graphics/pictures taken from NIST Rescue Rules - Test Areas and Performance Metrics for US.

The main instrument for the automic generation of the map will be a laser scanner, which will be installed on AIMEE at first. To recognize victims carbondioxyd, warmth sensors and image processing could be used.
